Scrapstashtic Jelly Roll Workshop

SCRAPSTASHTIC WORSHOP SUNDAY OCTOBER 9th 12:30 to 5pm at the Clinton Christian Church Hall.

Maximum number 25 participants - we will take a waitlist after that.

Janellea  Macbeth, our featured guest speaker from Pennsylvania, will be  inspiring us to take our jelly roll quilts to the next level. Jan will  be doing a trunk show for us each afternoon of our quilt show. This  trunk show is the prerequisite for her workshop on creating jelly roll  quilts from scraps. I've included some of her promotional material for  the workshop here as attachments. You will be so inspired by her  creations that you will want to start playing with the jelly roll quilt  right away! SUPPLY LIST FOR THE SCRAPSTASHTIC WORKSHOP SUNDAY OCTOBER 9th

First of all please plan on bringing a sewing mat for under your machine. Some of you might have something cute and fancy  that you made - with the little pockets hanging down in front to hold  the M & M's. If you don't have a sewing mat then you can bring a  small quilt, table topper, table runner, or even just a folded towel.  You will need something to dampen the vibration of the machine.

You can use your own stash like Janellea would recommend! From large scraps or width of fabric cut jelly roll strips 2 1/2" in x any length. As you cut, neatly stack your strips. Keep  cutting until your stack is 2 - 3" tall. When in doubt bring more fabric  than you need. If you have a jelly roll in your stash that is begging  to be used then feel free to just use that for the sake of the workshop.

The rest of the list consists of your machine and sewing kit.

Wind  at least 3 bobbins ahead of time and make sure your machine is cleaned  and oiled so you don't take time to do these things at the workshop.

Thread, scissors, seam ripper, cleaning brushes, pins

You might want to also consider your own cutting and pressing stations,  mats, rulers, rotary cutters, ironing mat and iron. There is  potentially going to be a lot of people in this workshop so the provided  stations might get crowded.
